Laurie M. Ables, MA, LPC-S, NBCC, BCPCC

Licensed Professional Counselor & Supervisor with 28 years of experience. The majority of my private practice is dedicated to marriage, individual, and adolescent counseling as well as parental coaching. My method of counseling comes from a foundation of integrating faith and psychological tools to aid in the restoration of the total person - intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I also utilize animal-assisted therapy a few times a month by bringing my therapy dog to the office. I truly enjoy mentoring the next generation of counselors and at this time have an additional satellite office based in Stonebridge Church. Thankfully, I am happily married and have 3 wonderful young adult children. My spare time is spent enjoying life as much as possible by spending time adventuring with my family. My motto is "Encouragement for today, Hope for tomorrow."

Beth.jpg

Beth Lindsey, MA, LPC

I know life can be challenging, especially during these most unprecedented times.  I’m Beth Lindsey, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and it is truly my passion to help you overcome the emotional and mental suffering you have been experiencing.  Helping you learn to manage difficult emotions, discover your inner resources, grow in confidence, and experience freedom is my heart’s desire. I am committed to help you move towards thriving in your life and not just surviving.

I have been in the helping field for many years and continue to be “surprised” by the strength of the individuals I meet with. I don’t see weakness walk through my doors; I see people who are about to discover their strengths.  Together I am here to help uncover those for you.

I will help you create a sense of safety and belonging to help you move forward and to begin living a more fulfilling and enjoyable life.  We were designed to live in community with a sense of belonging and connection. I not only strive to create that in my counseling office but also to help you create that connection with yourself and your community.

Initially, our focus will be on stability and decreasing distressing symptoms that may have brought you to see me.  We will explore the ways that you have navigated life’s array of emotions in the past, build on those strengths and find new ways to support you to move forward.  Together, we will create goals to work towards in our weekly sessions.

I work with individuals, couples and families.  My area of expertise include: Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Low Self-Esteem, Unresolved trauma, Relationship conflict, Disordered Eating and Poor Body Image.

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University and Dallas Theological Seminary.  I am trained in many of the most researched modalities of treatment to provide you with the best possible help. I am also trained in EMDR.

Please consider giving yourself permission to be heard, seen and respected in a safe and serene environment.

Cynthia Martinez, MS, LMFT

Cynthia completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and her Master of Science Degree in Psychology from Our Lady of The Lake University.  She has ten years of experience working with teens and adolescents.  Her areas of specialization include facilitating an Anti-bullying Program and teaching healthy relationship skills to junior and high school students to prevent domestic violence.  Also, she facilitated divorce care for adults and children.  Cynthia believes individuals possess the resiliency to overcome life’s obstacles.  Through therapy one can discover strengths to bring about hope, balance, and change in life.  She utilizes more of a postmodern approach to therapy including Collaborative, Narrative, Solution- Focused, and MRI Strategic Family Therapy.   However, there is not one theory that fits all challenges.  The client is the expert on their life; therefore, as the therapist, collaboration with clients is key to unlocking their potential and overcoming obstacles.  She enjoys working with children, (9 – 12 years old), teens, individual, couples, and families.

Cynthia is a native to The Woodlands and lives in the community with her husband.  Cynthia enjoys traveling and watching football with family.  She also enjoys movies, singing, and vacationing at the beach.
